About us

We provide leadership, advice, information and guidance on all issues relating to the nursing and midwifery professions in Western Australia. The Office of the Chief Nursing Officer (OCNO) leads innovation in nursing and midwifery policy and practice to ensure optimal clinical outcomes. We work in partnership and collaboration with nurses and midwives, consumers, healthcare-related industries, education providers and key stakeholders to deliver well informed nursing and midwifery care.

The nursing workforce branch under the leadership of the Chief Nursing Officer provides advice on professional related aspects of the nursing and midwifery workforce. The branch initiates, develops and monitors workforce policy and strategic plans to develop a sustainable nursing and midwifery workforce.
