National registration and accreditation scheme

For the first time there will be a single national registration and accreditation system for nurses and midwives as well as medical practitioners and other health professionals.

This will:

help health professionals move around the country more easily
reduce red tape
provide greater safeguards for the public
promote a more flexible, responsive and sustainable health workforce

Nursing excellence awards

Since 2003 these awards have become a highly valued annual event. They provide an opportunity to recognise and reward nurses and midwives for the special contribution they make to the community of Western Australia.
